Jeff Leventhal

Jeff Leventhal has been serving his clients as their personal CFO for almost three decades.

“I pride myself on having an organizational and process-oriented approach to making smart financial decisions with my clients. My passion, responsiveness and commitment to a very high level of service help make me qualified to understand client’s goals and achieve them,” says Jeff. Jeff became a business owner himself when he and his partners created Hightower Bethesda in 2011. Prior to joining Hightower, Jeff served as senior vice president of investments at UBS and Merrill Lynch.


Helping a client minimize their financial concerns is his main priority. Jeff specializes in complex financial planning, estate planning strategies, private real estate, private equity and small business consulting.
Jeff is a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®) and a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®). He received a business administration degree from Towson University.
Jeff resides in Potomac, Maryland with his wife, Judy, daughter, Natalie, and black lab, Bailey. His older sons, David and Bradley, have completed college and are working. Jeff is an avid golfer, skier and hiker. The Leventhal family enjoys free time at their home in Ocean City, New Jersey. Jeff is also currently on the board of the National Federation to End Senior Hunger (NFESH). He also served in the past on the Towson University Board of Visitors, the Towson University Athletic Board and the Washington D.C. board of American Jewish Committee (AJC). He is an ambassador for the Interps program at University of Maryland, College Park, a football/internship program that seeks to get student athletes real-world work experience and prepare for life after football.

 

Dan Crowley

Dan Crowley, who previously held the position of Senior Associate Director of Athletics at Towson University and served as Interim Director of Athletics from Dec. 3, 2021 thru March 28, 2022, has been named the Executive Vice President of The Best Is Ahead Foundation, Inc. (TBIAF)

After a professional football career at quarterback that spanned nine seasons in the Canadian Football League followed by several years as a successful business entrepreneur, Dan Crowley ’95 returned to his alma mater where he served as Towson University’s Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Development, overseeing all the department’s fundraising initiatives for its 19-sport program. Dan finished his career at Towson as the school’s all-time leading passer, as well as the most prolific passer in the state of Maryland history.

During Crowley’s tenure, Tigers teams won conference titles in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) or Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), including women’s basketball, women’s indoor track, men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, women’s volleyball and swimming and diving; and, on a national scale, Tigers football and men’s lacrosse teams each made NCAA National Championship appearances.

Additionally, Towson University facilities have realized historic investment and improvement under Crowley’s leadership, including, but not limited to, the construction of the South Campus project, which is home to Tiger Stadium (women’s lacrosse and soccer), the Tiger Softball Stadium and the TU Field Hockey Complex. Further, Johnny Unitas Stadium, SECU Arena, and John B. Schuerholz Park saw major upgrades to make TU home to one of the premier mid-major athletic complexes in the nation.

Dan is no stranger to the Maryland Terrapins with his father graduating from the University of Maryland School of Engineering and his girlfriend Kristen, graduating from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Dan’s father was also a four-year letterwinner for the Terrapins Baseball Team and served as the President of the M Club for two years. Dan is a Board of Director Member for the Maryland State Hall of Fame and Selection Committee.

Judy Leventhal

Judy graduated from Towson University with a degree in Education. She grew up in the College Park area and has always been a Terps fan.

She has spent most of her adult life raising her 3 children, volunteering at their schools and being team managers for their sports teams. She now wants to focus her time to help TBIAF by helping to plan events for the community.

David Gordon

David Gordon is the Managing Partner and Owner of Monumental Markets, a micro market provider to over 500 customers in the MidAtlantic Region.

David is passionate about building companies and developing people, as well as, making a difference in the lives of others. David is a graduate of the University of Maryland with his degree in economics. In 1991, he was the Managing Partner and Owner at Monumental Vending. He built one of the largest independent vending machine companies in the US. In 2015, he sold the business to the largest food service company in the world – Compass Food Service.

David is very involved in the community as well. He has been a leader for the Young President’s Organization (YPO) and is committed to build on a foundation of community.

David is also an Advisory Board Member for First Descents, a life-changing outdooradventures for young adults (ages 18 – 39) impacted by cancer and other serious health conditions. He is an ambassador for the Interps program at University of Maryland, College Park, a football/internship program that seeks to get student athletes real-world work experience and prepare for life after football.

 

Gal Kaufman

Gal N. Kaufman serves as co-chair at FisherBroyles, LLP, the firm’s Private Client Services Practice Group.

He has been a passionate supporter for the Terrapin Football Program ever since earning his undergrad from the University of Maryland in 1988. He went on to receive postgraduate degrees from American University, Washington College of Law in 1992 (cum laude) and Georgetown University Law Center: LLM (Taxation) in 1995.

Gal is highly experienced in the full range of private wealth services matters, including sophisticated tax analysis and planning; structured management arrangements for families, family businesses and family offices; and fiduciary and tax controversies. Mr. Kaufman also is well-versed in advising on issues related to captive insurance.

Mr. Kaufman has extensive experience representing business owners, with a special emphasis on tax-efficient strategies that enhance the ability of the business owner to maintain the business within the family; or if a sale of the business is the ultimate goal, strategies that maximize the after-tax proceeds to the business owner and the business owner’s family. Mr. Kaufman also is well-versed in representing high-net- worth families and the varied legal and tax needs of such families.

 

Ted Hart

Executive Director, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Mr. Hart began his career with Dean Witter in 1989.

He was a founding member of Morgan Stanley’s ESOP Transaction Services Group (ETSG) in 2001, the firm’s private ESOP practice focused on implementing Employee Stock Ownership Plans for privately-held companies. His current practice includes foundations, endowments associations, and high-net worth individuals. As Portfolio Management Director, Ted implements wealth management strategies for clients, concentrating on portfolio management and developing customized investment strategies.

Mr. Hart holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland and in 1998 completed the Morgan Stanley Financial Consultants Program at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Hart has been a Presidents Club Member at Morgan Stanley since 1997. He serves on the Board of Directors at The Washington Jesuit Academy and lives in Chevy Chase, Md with his wife Cindy and their two children.

 

Ethan Foxman

NFP – President Atlantic Region Ethan is passionate about building culture, competing at the highest level, and driving community engagement. After spending the early years of his career in financial services and insurance, in 2006 Ethan was named President of Group Dental Service (GDS), a Mid-Atlantic regional benefits and insurance business. Soon after, in 2008 Ethan led the sale of GDS to Coventry Healthcare, the 6th largest public healthcare company in the U.S. Ethan remained with Coventry from 2008 – 2013 as the President of the dental and vision insurance business. In 2014, Ethan joined The Meltzer Group which was the largest insurance agency in the Washington DC market. He was named President in 2016 in conjunction with a sale to NFP. NFP is the 5th largest privately held insurance agency in the country serving commercial, health , welfare, retirement, and individual clients. Today, Ethan is the President of the Atlantic Region for NFP. In this role, he oversees nearly 1000 employees in more than 20 offices covering Pennsylvania to Louisiana. He has a background in organic growth strategies, acquisitions, and management. Ethan has served on multiple Boards, including the Smith School from 2004 – 2006, The Honor Society 2009 – 2016, The Humane Society Maryland State Council 2014 – 2017, and The Senior Dog Sanctuary, 2017 – present. He also works with a number of start-up businesses and is an active member in the University of Maryland Mentorship Program and on the Leadership Council for the Washington DC chapter of Young Presidents Organization (YPO). He lives in Chevy Chase Maryland with his wife Emily.

Josh Wilson

At University of Maryland, Josh received All-ACC honors and honorable mention All-America accolades in 2006 as well as the team MVP. He was a two-time Academic All-ACC selection, and in 2006 he won the James Tatum Award as the top football student-athlete in the ACC. That year he ranked 11th nationally in kickoff returns and set the single-season school record for return yards. That mark was the sixth-highest single-season total in ACC history at the time and his kickoff return average ranked second on the Terps single-season list. Josh went on to be selected in the 2nd round of the NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2007 draft. He played three seasons with the Seahawks where he led the NFL in kick return yards in 2008. In 2009, Josh won the Walter Payton Man of the Year award for the Seattle Seahawks for his extremely commitment to giving back to the community. Josh would go on to play a total of nine years in the NFL playing in Seattle, Baltimore, Washington, Atlanta, and Detroit. While still in the middle of his NFL career, Josh graduated from George Washington University with his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in 2014 in the top 20% of his graduating class. He started his real estate investment firm, WC Investments, LLC, and began providing affordable housing in the multifamily apartment sector in Washington, DC. Since retiring in 2016, he has received his second master’s degree from Georgetown University’s School of Professional Studies in Real Estate where he also graduated in the top percentile of his graduating class. His company has completed $25+ million worth of real estate transactions. His company currently holds ownership stake in 150+ apartment units in DC. Josh continues to be a staple at his alma mater. Josh was the leader of the 2006 DB group which originated the “Dirty Terps”. Slogan meant to state that they were willing to do whatever it took, the “dirty” work, to win. He, his wife Jazmin, and their four children are regulars at both Terp football and basketball games.    

Jamie Bragg

Jamie Bragg is an Strategic Advisor and Partner of 3Step Sports. 3STEP Sports is the largest youth sport event and club operator in the nation delivering premier sport experience’s.
Prior, Jamie spent 20 years working with Under Armour holding various Vice President roles in supply chain, warehousing, distribution and team sports. Jamie is a dynamic leader who brings a positive attitude and team building approach to grow the organizations. Jamie is a 1995 graduate from the University of College Park, where he majored in agricultural business, and played football for the university being named captain of the team his senior year.

Richie Harris

Richard Harris, better known as Richie Harris when he was a wide receiver on the University of Maryland football team in the late 1980s to early 1990s, is now a lawyer in the Philadelphia area, where he counsels employers on crisis management and litigation avoidance, among many other things. Sitting on the Board of Directors and as the co-Chair of its Jury Trial Practice Group, Harris looks out for those who need help as he provides counsel for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Americans with Disabilities Act as Amended (ADAA), discrimination, harassment, and whistleblower litigation.

Harris has tried more than 50 trials in state and federal court, quickly becoming one of the most respected professionals in his field. While Harris is an impressive man in the courtroom, he still makes time for another of his passions: Maryland football.

D’Qwell Jackson

D’Qwell Jacksonis a retired 11-year NFL veteran, where he was a Pro Bowl linebacker for the Cleveland Browns and the Indianapolis Colts. He served his teammates as a team Captain and as a player labor activist as union representative for the National Football Players Association (NFLPA). He is an inductee into the Cleveland Browns Legends circle, and the University of Maryland Hall of Fame.

The University of Maryland graduate has worked as a media personality with NBC Sports Washington covering the Washington Football Team and the Baltimore Ravens, as well as appearances on other national broadcasts as a guest analyst. Jackson currently hosts the podcast @athletesunplugged, covering post-playing life challenges among other vital issues. As an entrepreneur, Jackson participates in an investment fund, Manhattan Venture Partners, investing in the intersection of sports and technology, and other startups. The Florida-born Jackson now resides in the Washington, DC community with his wife, Christina, and son, King.”
